The postpartum period is a time of significant physical and emotional change, as the body recovers from childbirth and adapts to new demands of motherhood. Women's health physiotherapy plays a vital role in supporting postnatal recovery, addressing issues such as abdominal separation (diastasis recti), pelvic floor dysfunction, breastfeeding challenges and musculoskeletal pain. Tailored recovery is key to help women regain core strength, improve posture, and restore function, promoting overall physical and emotional well-being during this critical period. By addressing these postpartum changes with our support, new mothers can navigate the journey of caring for a new baby with confidence and resilience.

POSTNATAL IN-HOME SERVICES

​Postnatal Care​

  • Early postpartum care consultations (less than 6 weeks postnatal) for all birth types

  • C-section birth specific rehabilitation

  • ​Mastitis and blocked ducts

  • ​Abdominal wall (DRAM) assessment and rehabilitation

  • Management of postpartum musculoskeletal concerns (back pain, pelvic pain, neck pain, hand and wrist pain)

  • Postnatal home exercise

Postnatal Pelvic Floor

  • Postnatal pelvic floor assessment for all birth types

  • Postnatal pelvic floor management for bladder concerns, bowel concerns, prolapse, pelvic pain

Please kindly note additional fees may apply in the following instances - travel outside of City of Port Phillip and surrounds, tolls or parking should there be no free parking access at your location. You will be advised of any additional fees prior to your appointment.
